Our history

We are Hamburg’s oldest notaries’ office and deeply rooted in the Hanseatic city. Our success story started over 200 years ago when Johann Heinrich Hübbe founded our office. He was followed by important characters such as the author and caricaturist Eduard Schramm, the Jewish jurist and politician Gabriel Riesser and the Hamburg culture senator Hans Harder Biermann-Rathien. They have all left their mark on the history of Hamburg and Germany and prove one thing above all with their biographies: the profession of a notary reaches far into many areas of society.
